Over the weekend a few tweets went viral about this new alcoholic beverage Capriccio Bubbly Sangria. The sangria is being dubbed the new Four Loko because it’s deceivingly strong, like two sips and you’re gone strong.
Warnings were tweeted out from the brave people who drank Capriccio Bubbly Sangria and lived to tell the tale. One person said they drank not even half of a bottle and “was in slow motion the rest of the night.” While another person said they drank two in one night and “woke up the next morning on the kitchen floor with a chicken tender in my hand.”
It’s been called the “devil’s blood,” “female viagra,” and “5 Lokos.” So what even is in the Capriccio Bubbly Sangria? The sangria is a product from Florida Caribbean Distillers. It has 13.9% alcohol and is the best selling sangria in the Caribbeans. It’s made from real fruit juice (pineapple, orange and grape) and has no preservatives. It’s also the only sangria that is carbonated.
According to BuzzFeed, the company’s national sales director, Dave Steiner says that one bottle “is equivalent to two glasses of wine.” I don’t know anyone who has had two glasses of wine and has blacked out.
Despite the crazy stories about drinking half a bottle and blacking out, people now want to try the sangria for themselves.
Drink responsibly this summer.
