‘Riverdale’ Finale Stream: How To Watch Season 2, Episode 22

So much stuff went down in this episode and can we go back to season one? It was a much simpler time, Kevin and Joaquin sneaking around like secret lovers and Kevin being happy, my child deserves to be satisfied.

I don’t know where to start, but maybe we can start with Cheryl being a fresh mixture of Riverdale-Mad Max (there’s a reference in this episode)- Arrow-Gotham? Cool, cool, cool.

The Black Hood showed up at Cheryl’s house towards the end of the previous, and the episode picked up where it left off. He swung at Cheryl’s door like Jack Nicholson in The Shining at Cheryl’s door,  but she not only managed to climb out a window, she also armed herself with a bow and arrow, becoming a superhero we never knew we needed. She launched an arrow directly into his shoulder and tells Betty, “Luckily I was able to get to my archery set and hunting cape.” Cheryl, have you ever seen a horror film? Right now is not the time to gloat! THERE’S A LITERALLY SERIAL KILLER RUNNING THROUGH THE WOODS AND ITS READY TO KILL AT ANY MOMENT! The Black Hood quickly runs into the woods, no, it’s not a nod to Into the Woods, but I can see how it can be. Cheryl warns Betty, saying that the “maimed animal” is liable to attack anyone, including— if the person under that infamous hood is, in fact, Hal Cooper-his own family. Gasp! What?! No.

Remember when Marty McFly goes back to 1985 in Back To The Future Part II and everything’s on fire and Biff’s mayor? That’s pretty how Riverdale is right at the moment.  Everything’s on fire, everyone’s in a bad mood. However, Hiram isn’t in a bad mood, not him. He’s a messy person who lives for drama (as you can see some parallels between Hiram and Biff), a particular scene that feeds into his private prison-building and he loves it. Of course, he is, because it’s him, he lives for the drama, and it doesn’t matter if Hiram has to throw his wife and daughter under the bus, he would do it.

At the same time, Hiram was doing his own thing, Hermione was doing her part by offering a $1 million bounty on the Black Hood, and of course, she said “alive or preferably dead,” cue Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive. She also alleges that the Black Hood shot Fangs Fogarty, which, no.  He was busy going all The Shining on Cheryl who has been through enough this season! So they did not shoot Fang.

Talking about Fang, it might have looked like Reggie did shot Fang, but Archie is positive he tackled him to the ground before the rabid Bulldog could. In this time, I want to apologize to Archie and how I talked about him and calling him horrible names. I’m so sorry. Archie deals with that mess, Veronica solves the crime by accident when she discovered Midge Klump’s bereaved mother stumbling around town with a gun in hand.

Veronica is convinced that the bounty is really the ransom she finagled from the St. Clairs, she locks herself in her father’s office and searches for the money that she earned while her mother tells her that she can’t touch the money until she’s 21. We get it, Hermione, she can’t reach her trust fund until she’s 21. She doesn’t find the money, but instead finds a folder labeled “October Surprise,” which yes, its a common political term, but sounds to me more like a prank that involves some kind of joke of a pumpkin pie, think The Help.

You might wonder, what’s in the folder? What does Hiram have to hide? It’s actually a telephoto creep-shots of Fred and Hermione canoodling, from the first season. She also finds a pre-written press release titled “Family Man Fred Andrews Not SO Innocent.” Quick question, has anyone proofread that? To make sure it makes sense and flows excellently? If not, I offer my services. No surprise, Hermione is well aware of this plan of her husband’s, and of course, she agreed because it would do more damage to her lover-turned-opponent’s campaign that it would to hers, hold on. Knowing Hiram, he’s going to take his wife down with Fred.

There is so much left in the episode, let me sum it up for you. One, it revealed that Hiram is working with Penny (remember her? The one who Jughead cut her tattoo from her skin, yes that one.), also who’s surprised by this? No one? Alright, awesome. Penny kidnapped Toni, but its okay, Cheryl saves her, and they’re back together, being adorable, can we get more screen time on these two next season? Two, The Ghoulies are back, and we are reminded why we need Sherrif Keller and his bros, Fred & FP. I know, I know, there’s a new sheriff in town, but technically he’s not the original Sheriff, go ahead and fight me on this.  He scares them away. Three, HAL IS THE BLACK HOOD AND REVEALED HE HAS THE SAME DARK SIDE AS BETTY! This is some shocking news. Quick question though, are they related to The Skywalker family by any chance? No? Just making sure. Four, JUGHEAD MIGHT DIE! WHAT. Jughead decided to play the hero and sacrificed himself, and the ghoulies beat him up pretty bad. So there’s a chance that our ace-cheeseburger loving character might die. How can we move on when they announced we’re going to be seeing Jelly Bean and his mom next season?

I guess we will have to wait and see what kind of things are going down in the next episode.  You know the drill, check out below how to view the season finale:
