On Thursday, May 24, 2018, Red Nose Day will make its annual return to help raise awareness about child poverty.
All across the world, Red Nose Day has become a global day of awareness celebrated by millions of people to help raise funds for children in need.
Red Nose Day was launched in the United States back in 2015 with the sole mission of ending child poverty in the states and in the most impoverished communities around the world.
Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign that was created and has been running by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc. Since being founded, the money raised by Red Nose Day has benefited programs for children and young people in all 50 states in the US and in 34 countries internationally. On a global scale, Red Nose Day has raised more than 1 billion dollars since it’s original launch in 1988 in the UK.
The purpose of Red Nose Day is to bring people together to have fun, put a smile on children and young people’s faces while raising money to hopefully change the lives of kids who are in need and need help.

Partnering with Walgreens, people across the country can buy red noses from their local Walgreens/Duane Reade and go “nose to nose” raising awareness and collecting charitable donations for kids in need. On May 24th, everyone comes together to wear the red noses and tunes into NBC for a special night of programming celebrating Red Nose Day.
Aside from just buying a Red Nose, there are other ways you can get involved and participate including donating, or joining or organizing a fundraiser.
Those interested in raising money for kids in need can download a fundraising kit on the official Red Nose Day website which is full of ideas on how to fundraise with your classmates, colleagues, and community. The site also offers a variety of ideas to help get you inspired to set up a fundraising page and invite friends and family to donate.
You can also participate and help spread the world by posting your best Red Nose selfie on your social media using the hashtag, #RedNoseDay.
