Actress Dove Cameron was pretty much destined to be a star. The 22-year-old was born Chloe Celeste Hosterman on January 15, 1996 in Seattle, Washington. At 8-years-old, Cameron began acting in community theater and continued to hone in on her craft from that day forward. Sometime later Cameron took an interest in singing as well, eager to be a well-rounded performer and at just 14,-years-old, her talents led her to sing in Burbank High School’s National Championship Show Choir. While Cameron put all her efforts into her acting and singing career, she also went through some tough and difficult times as well.
In the past, Cameron has been vocal about her struggles growing up including admitting that she was bullied through her entire school experience starting in fifth grade and all throughout high school. When she was just 15-years-old, Cameron suffered yet another personal and devastating blow when her father sadly passed away in 2011.
Regardless of her struggles and personal tragedies that Cameron has faced throughout her childhood, Cameron stayed focused on her dreams of becoming successful in entertainment. To date, Cameron has appeared in countless television and movie productions and is most well known for playing a dual role as the eponymous characters in the Disney Channel teen sitcom Liv and Maddie from 2013 until 2017. Cameron is also known for playing Mal, in the films Descendants and the sequel Descendants 2, and is set to reprise her role in Descendants 3 in 2019.

Ryan McCartan 2013 – 2016

Cameron and actor Ryan McCartan met on April 3, 2013 on the set of Liv and Maddie. The duo played a couple on the show and eventually wound up taking their on-screen romance off-screen as well. It was said that while the two eventually became an item, they didn’t like each other at first since Dove didn’t want to audition with Ryan because he kept glaring at her and giving everyone dirty looks.
Despite her reservations, when they went into the audition room and did the scene everything supposedly changed. Sometime later, the pair went on their first date and the two officially became an item on August 6, 2013. After three years of dating, McCartan proposed to Cameron in April 2016. The pair confirmed their engagement on April 14th, 2016. Just six months later, the pair split in October, McCartan confirming the news to his fans on social media. Cameron would later reveal that the cause for the split was that she simply wasn’t happy and claimed that McCartan was “terrible” to her while they were together.
Thomas Doherty 2016-Present

That same year Cameron and her Descendants 2 co-star Thomas Doherty met in Vancouver on the set. The pair eventually got closer after Cameron’s split from McCartan and on February 15, 2017, Cameron confirmed she and Doherty were in a relationship.
In June of 2018, rumors swirled that Cameron and Doherty had called it quits. Cameron quickly shut down the rumors on her social media, tweeting that she is still madly in love with Doherty and the two are still together.
