Sarah Catharine Paulson is an American actress. She’s best known for her amazing performances in American Horror Story, Carol, The Post, and this summer’s most anticipated film, Ocean’s 8. Paulson was made for the big screen considering she began working as an actress right out of high school. Paulson has accumulated three Golden Globe Award nominations and six Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Along with her successful career Paulson has overcome life obstacles. She was diagnosed with melanoma at the age of 25. The growth was later removed before the cancer could spread. She made a huge step in her life when she addressed her sexuality in a 2013 interview with Broadway.com.
In a 2015 Pride Source interview, Paulson said she wasn’t going to label her sexuality. “I can meet a man tomorrow and fall in love with him and marry him and I wouldn’t discount any of the experiences that I’ve had with women, or vice versa,” she said. “I just don’t think anyone is in a position to dictate what that is for me.”

Cherry Jones 2004-2009
The couple had been together since 2004 but went public in 2005, when Cherry thanked “Laura Wingfield” (Sarah’s character in “The Glass Menagerie”) during her Tony Awards acceptance speech. It was her Emmy acceptance speech that signaled their break up to the public too, when Cherry omitted Sarah in her thank you. She said it was a conscious decision they talked about before the show.
The break-up had been previously confirmed by Cherry’s friend and comedian Suzanna Westenhoeffer on AfterEllen.com, but Cherry discussed the break-up further saying, “It’s the happiest break up that’s ever been. We grew so much together and now we can send each other off with a kiss and great love.”
Holland Taylor 2015-Present
Reports that Paulson, 41, was dating Holland Taylor, 73, began to surface in early December after Taylor admitted that she was in a relationship with a woman and that it was the “most wonderful and extraordinary thing” that happened to her life. People began to notice her and Paulson’s witty Twitter banter, but nothing was officially confirmed. In March 2016, Taylor and Paulson’s relationship was in fact confirmed when Paulson stated during an interview that they had been dating since early 2015.
Paulson addresses why she prefers dating older women by stating, “There’s a poignancy to being with someone older. I think there’s a greater appreciation of time and what you have together and what’s important, and it can make the little things seem very small.”
No matter who Paulson is dating we are happy as long as she is happy! Paulson believes her relationship is a symbol of hope and bravery, and we couldn’t agree more.
Sarah Paulson still continues the romance with her longtime partner Holland Taylor as they ring the New Year with enthusiasm and silly hats.
