This week in Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson updates and drama are about a necklace. A few days ago Davidson posted a photo of Grande wearing his late father’s FDNY pendant. Davidson’s father Scott died in the 9/11 attacks in New York City.
The necklace resembles Davidson’s dad’s firefighter badge and has his number on it, 8418. Grande has never met Davidson’s dad, but she’s still honoring him in a big way. She also got his number tattooed on her foot.
Grande and Davidson’s actions surrounding his late father have been met with criticism. Someone commented on his post saying that he gave his ex-girlfriend Cazzie David a necklace too and criticized him for it.
He wasn’t here for the hate and put the hater in their place. “I had a bunch of replicas made,” Davidson commented back. “My sister and grandpa also have one. The one that Ari has is the one my dad actually died in and the one he wore his entire career and the one I’ve worn for over 17 years. I’ve actually never taken it off other than for SNL or work. So it means a lot to me.”
He finished off by telling the hater to “learn to be nicer” and to “not assume the worst in people.”
So his ex having a replica isn’t a shady thing, many people in Davidson’s life have replicas. But the one Grande has is the real deal.
Another fan also tried to drag Davidson for letting a “girl” wear his dad’s chain. Davidson wasn’t having it and let this other hater know what’s up too.
“For your information that’s not just some girl,” Davidson replied in the comments. “That’s my fiancé. She’s the greatest person I know. I gave it to her because she has my heart and that is the most precious thing I own. My dad would be so happy and love her so much.”
