You know Britney Spears‘ hot boyfriend, right? He’s the hottie with a six-pack and toned arms who frequently joins the pop star for couples workouts.
But Sam Asghari didn’t used to look ready to grace an old school Abercrombie & Fitch shopping bag.
In fact, at one point, his weight ballooned to 290 lbs.
“I was eating Doritos for breakfast, fast food, sugar, candy, no protein, a lot of carbs, and drinking sugary sodas,” the 24-year-old told Men’s Health. “My nutrition was extremely horrible. The stress and the fear of not going anywhere [in life] combined gave me my depression.”
But he decided to make a change.
“I could either continue going through the same thing or I could give it another 100 percent,” Asghari said. “I didn’t want to have to deal with that depression and disappointment anymore. I had to restart.”
Asghari became a personal trainer and worked out for two hours a day. He also changed up his diet, limiting his calorie intake to just 1,500 per day. This was a bit extreme, so he found what worked for him in the middle and began to make some major progress.
The results are clear.
Now he has a great exercise buddy in his girlfriend.
