It is starting to look like it’s going to be Cuban singer Camila Cabello’s year. Born Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, Cabello got rose to fame back in 2012 when she, along with four other young talented singers, formed the hit-making group Fifth Harmony, during the second season of The X Factor. While the group quickly rose to the top of the charts, at the height of the group’s success, Cabello decided to focus on her career as a solo artist and abruptly left the group in 2016.
After two years as a solo artist, Cabello decided to refocus and switch up her image and musical sound, focusing on her Latin roots. The move proved to be a great one for Cabello and in 2018, Cabello released her self-titled album, Camila, with its lead single “Havana” topping the charts in several countries. With the success of “Havana,” Cabello’s solo career has taken a turn for the better as the young singer continues to focus on her rise to the top in the music industry. Cabello is living the life that most twentysomethings dream of both professionally and personally. Not only has Cabello been lucky with her career, but the Cuban native has had her fair share of steamy romances as well.
Let’s take a look at Cabello’s love life in more detail.
Austin Mahone 2013-2014
Cabello’s first major relationship was with fellow singer Austin Mahone. The pair met back in 2013 at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 25, 2013. The pair supposedly was rumored to have begun dating just two months later in October of 2013.
Both Cabello and Mahone denied that they were together until November of 2014 when Cabello finally revealed that the two had been dating. Mahone followed just days later, opening up about Cabello during a magazine interview. After the two finally revealed their relationship to the public earlier in the month, news broke that the couple had called it quits in late November.
Michael Clifford 2015
Cabello’s next romance was said to be a rumored one. In February 2015, rumors began to swirl that Cabello was hooking up with guitarist and backup vocalist Michael Clifford of the band 5 Seconds of Summer. Reports began to swirl of a potential romance after the pair was spotted out together having dinner following Cabello’s split from Mahone.
Rumors peaked at an all-time high shortly after Cabello’s iCloud account was hacked, flirty and intimate messages between the pair leaked online. Despite the rumors and flirty relationship the duo had, neither Cabello nor Clifford addressed their relationship.
Matthew Hussey 2018-Present
After years of being linked to several different men, including her good friend Shawn Mendes, Cabello finally put all the rumors to rest at the beginning of 2018 when she revealed that she was dating British YouTuber, Matthew Hussey. After a picture of the pair smooching on a beach in January 2018 was posted online, fans and the media went wild with speculation. While the duo was slow to confirm their relationship, the couple were spotted kissing again backstage at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. As of late Cabello has since come forth about her author, life coaching and radio host boyfriend telling radio jockey Elvis Duran, “I love him. He’s great. He gives good advice.”
Camila Cabello is still dating her boyfriend Matthew Hussey and they seem really happy out in public spending time.
