Summer is sadly almost over. With the summer season coming to a close, one song has to be crowned the song of the summer 2018. This summer the competition was tough, but one has to reign supreme.
Picking a song of the summer 2018 is tricky. Some people base it on personal preferences, how much the song is streamed, where it charted and many other factors. Thankfully Spotify is here to add some insight into which song is the song of the summer.
Spotify dropped the streaming numbers for the summer months, like a mini year-end review. According to the streaming platform, Drake’s summer smash “In My Feelings” was streamed the most this summer. His hit single had a whopping 393 million streams globally between June 1 and August 20. He had the most songs in the top 20 list. The other songs are “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What,” “Don’t Matter To Me” and “Nonstop.”
Maroon 5’s single “Girls Like You” featuring Cardi B comes in at number two with 293 million streams globally. Cardi B’s own song “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin round out the top three most streamed songs globally on Spotify with 289 million streams.
