Everything You Need To Know About The New Captain Marvel Movie

Everyone is currently freaking out over Marvel’s new trailer for Captain Marvel. It’s the superhero franchise’s first female-led superhero movie. The first official trailer has Marvel fans everywhere hyped up.

It shows Captain Marvel landing back on earth and linking up with Nick Fury.

The movie isn’t slated to come out until 2019, but we already have some spoilers about the film, premiere date and cast.

Captain Marvel is set in the 90s, hence the Blockbuster in the opening scene of the trailer. The premise for the film is that Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) becomes Captain Marvel and has to save the planet from two alien races the Skrull and Kree. Mar-Vell (Jude Law) is a Kree and was Danvers mentor when she gained her superpowers. The movie is based on the Kree/Skull storyline from the comics.

She teams up with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to help end the intergalactic war. Because the film is set in the 90s Fury doesn’t have his signature eye patch and he’s younger. Scenes with Fury and Coulson (Clark Gregg) are digitally retouched to make them seem younger than in the over Marvel superhero films. This is the origin story for a lot of well known Marvel characters. Captain Marvel is the first superhero Fury ever meets.

Danvers was a pilot in the air force who gains superhero powers. She eventually returns to earth and has flashbacks of her previous life. Captain Marvel will wear multiple different types of suits in the film.

Annette Bening’s is cast in the film but her role is unknown. Fans predict she will be playing Danvers’ mother.

Going back to Avengers Infinity War, the movie ended with Fury calling someone to come help and save the planet before he died, he obviously called Captain Marvel. This movie will set up her introduction to the larger Marvel universe and rescuing the Avengers.

Premiere Date

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019. It was originally supposed to come out July 2018 then moved to November 2018 and now it’s going to be released in March 2019.
