An innocent photo Anna Faris posted on Instagram lead viewers to leave nasty comments on body shaming the actress.
The comments left on the photo were so bad it led Faris to deleted the photo after only being posted for 15 minutes.many harsh views about Faris’ body
The photo showed Faris before recording her podcast, Unqualified, wearing a black shirt and what looks like underwear shorts. She captioned the photo: “Having pre-show jitters- so glad Michael Sherman captured it- also I eventually decided to put on pants.”
Michael Sherman is Faris’ assistant on the podcast.
Faris’ 2 million followers decided to comment about her appearance rather than focus on her ‘pre-show nerves’.
People on social media verbally attacked her, saying things like, “You look so unhealthy, eat.” according to TMZ, who saw the post before it was deleted. Another commenter says, “This is alarming!”, and another says, “I feel this pic is a cry for help, I hope you get the help you need.”
Alongside the many body-shaming comments, there were a few positive ones. “You are beautiful at any size. Health is our concern. If you’re healthy and happy that’s all that matters! Continue to be awesome!” says a commenter.
The few supportive comments didn’t seem to do much since Faris swiftly deleted the picture without any statement.
Body-shaming has always been a touchy subject, people always opinionating what the ‘ideal’ body type should be.
Faris isn’t the first celebrity to deal with public body-shaming.
Celebrities like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have dealt with the harsh comments about their weight and have taken action to fight against the bullying.
Both preach ‘self-love’ and have become roles models, especially to the younger generation.
