Amy Schumer & Emily Ratajkowski Reportedly Arrested For Protesting Judge Brett Kavanaugh

Comedian Amy Schumer and model Emily Ratajkowski have been supposedly arrested for protesting Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination. The two famous ladies weren’t the only ones to be arrested, they were among 300 other protestors who also got detained.

Schumer and Ratajkowski were part of the protest group that went into the Hart Senate Office Building to let senators know how they feel about Kavanaugh. Schumer spoke during the protest. “No matter how this goes, they cannot keep us down,” the comedian said. “We will win. A vote for Kavanaugh is a vote saying women don’t matter.”

According to Variety, 293 protestors were arrested at the Hart Senate Office Building atrium while nine were arrested on the fourth floor of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. All 302 protestors were charged for crowding, obstructing or incommoding.

Ratajkowski posted a photo of her during the protest on her Instagram announcing that she has been arrested. “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault,” the model stated. “Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power. Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter. I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men.”

Schumer also posted photos of the protest on Instagram. She simply captioned the post, “This today, then ERA.”

Final voting for Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination will be held this weekend. Kavanaugh was accused o sexual assault by Dr. Christine Brinkley Ford and two other women. Dr. Ford gave a testimony to the Senate judiciary committee on September 27 about the alleged assault and how she knows it was for sure Kavanaugh who assaulted her.
