The 2018 American Music Awards are live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on October 9, 2018, at 8:00 PM EST. The AMAs always have hot performances and this year the list of performers will definitely bring fire to the stage. Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Post Malone, and many others will take the stage to perform. Other performers include Carrie Underwood, Dua Lipa and Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid.
The top nominees this year include Drake and Cardi B with eight total nominations each. Drake will compete against Imagine Dragons, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift for the biggest award of the night, artist of the year. Cardi B will be up against Camila Cabello, Khalid, Dua Lipa and XXXTentacion for new artist of the year.

Global superstar Taylor Swift is opening the “2018 American Music Awards” with a performance of “I Did Something Bad,” marking Swift’s first awards show performance in nearly three years. She is a 19-time American Music Award winner and this year has received four nominations. She is also the current record holder of most wins for Artist of the Year, a category for which she is nominated again this year.
Ciara with Missy Elliott
The collaboration of the year is here. Multi-platinum selling artist Ciara and two-time American Music Award winner Missy Elliott are set to perform together. The performance will include Ciara’s “Level Up,” which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked in the Top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart. Additionally, Ciara will perform “Dose,” the new single from her forthcoming studio album.
The 10-time American Music Award-winning icon, who first performed at the AMAs in 1991 for a rendition of her dance-pop hit “Someday,” will be returning to the AMA stage for the first time since 2008. This will be her television debut of “With You,” the first single from her new album.
Cardi B with Bad Bunny and J Balvin
This will be Cardi B’s first televised awards show performance since the birth of her daughter in July. Cardi B has a total of eight nominations, including New Artist of the Year and Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop. Joining Cardi B on stage will be multi-platinum selling Latin singers Bad Bunny and J Balvin. The trio will be performing their song “I Like It,” which earned No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Panic! At The Disco
The multi-platinum selling band Panic! At The Disco will pay tribute to legendary British rock band, Queen, with a special performance of the award-winning hit, “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The song remains as one of Queen’s most popular and is often considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time. The group is nominated for Favorite Artist – Alternative Rock, and it will mark Panic! At The Disco’s first performance on the AMAs.
