The eight-part series faced a lot of backlash in the beginning videos because of the use of the word ‘sociopath’ with viewers commenting on how Dawson shouldn’t be speculating that Jake Paul is a sociopath.
But after passing that hurdle, the series left everyone shocked as all of Jake Paul’s secrets were unraveled by the end of the series.

Another big documentary series Dawson created was ‘The Truth About Tanacon’ featuring youtuber Tana Mongeau.
Mongeau, with over 3.5 million subscribers, decided this past June to ‘protest’ against Vidcon and throw her own convention.
The convention was supposed to feature big youtube stars including Shane Dawson and his friends and the Vlog Squad.
But the convention, unfortunately, fell apart due to the number of fans that attended which exceeded the maximum capacity of the venue. Dawson confronts Tana in the series and explains the fall of ‘Tanacon.’

Dawson also won three awards this year at the Streamy Awards including Documentary, Editing and the biggest award of the night Creator of the Year.
Dawson did not attend the award show, but Tana Mongeau took the honor in accepting the award for Dawson and his ‘The Truth About Tanacon’ series.
