Today is Election day for the 2018 midterm elections in America. It’s a big day to change which party has control over the House and will influence the policies for the next two years. Policies that will have an impact on immigration, healthcare, reproductive rights and more. To say that this election is important is an understatement.
According to the New York Times, all 435 seats in the House are up for grabs while 33 Senate seats will be voted on. On top of the House and Senate seats, 36 states will be voting on a Governor on top of many local issues and elections.
The NYT predict that if the Democrats take the House there will be a harder investigation into the president and a possible impeachment proceeding. If the Republicans keep the House it will be more of the same and they could possibly repeal the Affordable Care Act a.k.a. Obamacare.
If you want more information on who will be on your ballot and the issues you will be voting on go to BallotPedia.com. If you aren’t sure where to vote, where you are registered or how to vote, go to Vote.org and find out. No matter your politics, voting is a right and something everyone should partake in.
Celebrities are encouraging their fans to hit the polls.
