Jersey Shore’s JWoww Reveals Her Son Diagnosed With Autism

About three months ago Jenni “JWoww” Farley revealed her son Greyson Mathews struggle with speech delay. Now Greyson has officially been diagnosed with autism. In an episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, JWoww said that her two-year-old still wasn’t speaking.

“Greyson, he was recently diagnosed with autism,” the Jersey Shore mom told HollywoodLife.

“He has co-therapies [every] week but we’re going to step it up a notch soon and get him ABA treatments [and] speech therapy,” JWoww continued. “He’s made leaps and bounds when it comes to speech.”

She clarified and said that Greyson was vocal and is now understanding words. “He’s understanding words better which was his issue. Not that he couldn’t speak, but he would never know what his shoe is or if you said, ‘Greyson,’ he actually didn’t even know his name at one point until he was a little over two,” the mom gushed. “So now that he’s understanding simple words, he’s come so far.”

JWoww went on to say that Greyson has learned multiple colors and their meaning in the last two weeks after only knowing the color blue for a year. She said that English was like a foreign language to her son and he didn’t naturally learn the language like most kids do.

“It was really heartbreaking and frustrating as a mom when you see other two-year-olds that are speaking and living their best life.” But then JWoww stressed, “Greyson is living his best life. He just doesn’t know what you are saying!”

JWoww has been vocal about Greyson’s speech problems on her Instagram. At the beginning of October, she shared a video of her bringing Greyson to a pediatric chiropractor that helps with speech.

After the emotional episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation aired where JWoww broke down over Greyson’s speech skills she posted a lengthy Instagram. “As a mother, I will go to the moon and back for my kids… no question.” JWoww continued, “I decided to share that side of my family on Jersey Shore because I want to help anyone going through what I’m going through… I’m sure people need support the way I’ve needed it.”

Thankfully Greyson has been diagnosed and is doing well in therapy.
