Supermodel Gigi Hadid isn’t afraid of the normal things like spiders or clowns. Gigi is afraid of open toilet seats and explains her reasoning to W Magazine.
When asked if she has irrational fears, Gigi said, “I’m cool with spiders and heights and clowns. But I don’t like getting out of the shower and for the toilet seat to be open.”
Umm, no offense Gigi but what in the world? You don’t like getting out of the shower and seeing the toilet open?
“I’m like, I have water on me, and the toiler has water in it, and I just won’t shower with the toilet open,” Gigi elaborated.
Okay, so Gigi doesn’t like having the toilet open only when she gets out of the shower because she’s wet and the toilet has water in it. Is she mentally equating the water on her body to toilet water? That’s what it seems like.
Gigi continued, “I guarantee now you’re going to look at the toilet and it’s going to make you feel weird if it’s open while you shower.”
It’s doubtful that I’ll start an irrational fear of toilets thanks to Gigi. But people do have a real fear of toilets. Most toilet based phobias aren’t from toilets being open while you shower. Most toilet phobias are about using the restroom in public or fear of toilet overflowing, which seem a bit more sensible than Gigi’s fear.
