Chrissy Teigen Perfectly Shuts Down Mommy Shamers Criticizing Miles’ Helmet

Chrissy Teigen is also grossly candid on social media. It’s what has amassed her millions of followers. The mother of two puts a lot of her life out there on the internet and in return gets mommy shamed quite often. Most recently, Chrissy has been criticized over her baby Miles’ new helmet.

Teigen announced on Twitter that Miles is getting a helmet to help fix his flat and slightly misshapen head. “So if you see pictures, don’t feel bad for him because he’s just fixing his flat and honestly he’s probably gonna be even cuter with it somehow,” Teigen posted.

According to John Hopkins Medicine, helmet therapy is used to help correctly shape babies heads.

“Newborn babies’ skulls are soft plates with spaces between them. As the baby grows, these plates grow, gradually harden and knit together.” John Hopkins further explains, “Sometimes when a baby sleeps in the same position, the soft plates may develop a flat spot or uneven appearance.”

She then shared photos of Miles in his brand new helmet. He indeed does look even cuter with it.

Her tweet started a thread of parents sharing photos of their kids with helmets. Helmets aren’t painful and are only necessary for an allotted time. The average treatment time is three months.

Here’s my daughter Teagan! (We get asked a lot if she’s named after you lol) she only wore hers for 3 months! The first few nights are the only hard ones because of the transition. After that it’s a breeze and they barely notice it! ♥️♥️♥️ pic.twitter.com/o2Aq5gnuKN

I was most worried about how he would sleep in it but turned out he slept even better with it than without. Like a little pillow. pic.twitter.com/BuPpvtrgBE

My little boy had a helmet as well! It fixes their flat and protects them from falls…duality pic.twitter.com/PbtXhN07HJ

Despite the joy and endless thread of kids in helmets, there were still trolls in Chrissy’s mentions. “Good morning trolls! Just a friendly reminder that you do not indeed know absolutely everything. Miles has been seeing a physiotherapist – we didn’t just go straight to helmet,” Teigen tweeted. “We tried muscle work and will continue. Also your flat headed kid turned out fine yes yes yes I agree.”

Teigen followed it up with, “Just didn’t want you guys to see pictures and wonder. Not promoting anything. just sharing our story! Thank you back to your bridge now.”

Mommy shamers be damned. Chrissy isn’t here for it and neither are the hundreds of parents who shared photos of their kids in helmets.
