Out with the old beauty trends and in with the new ones. It’s just the beginning of 2019 but Pinterest already has all the beauty trends for the upcoming year figured out. Every year the website releases their Pinterest 100 list which predicts the top trends for 2019.
The way Pinterest predicts what will be a trend is simple. According to their statement, “If an idea keeps getting more and more searches each month? And that upward trajectory holds steady for 6+ months? That’s how we know it’s a trend.”
They tracked every trend from celebrations, traveling, parenting and more. But most importantly they tracked beauty trends. Get ahead of the curve in 2019 so all of your friends will be calling you a trendsetter by the end of 2019.
Baby Bangs

Baby bangs are here to stay and will probably be making waves in 2019. Baby bangs, or cropped bangs, is fringe that is cut above your eyebrows. Pinterest says the searches for cropped bangs spiked 51%.
Liquid Exfoliant

Skincare is huge and people are currently searching for liquid exfoliants. Opposed to scrubbing your skin with a face wash people are turning to liquid exfoliants, which most likely have some sort of acid in them, to slough off dead skin cells. Searches for liquid exfoliator grew 58%.
Gray Hair

Pinterest predicts that gray hair will be big in 2019. So don’t worry about covering up those early gray hairs, just lean into the look and dye your whole head that color. Searches on Pinterest for gray hair spiked 879%.
Bold Lipstick
Out with the pinky-nude lipsticks and in with the bright bold colors. Stock up on your reds, bright purples and peachy lipsticks for 2019. Bold lipstick searches spiked 467%.
Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel is gaining traction in the skincare world. Witch Hazel is from a plant and converted into a liquid. Witch hazel can help psoriasis, eczema and ingrown hairs from shaving. It also helps with acne because of its anti-inflammatory properties. But be careful because sometimes witch hazel can be very strong and drying. Searches for witch hazel went up 305%.
Lilac Hair

Pastel hair is not totally out of style. Lilac hair will be all the rage in 2019, so hop on the trend early. Searches for the light purple hair went up 1,077% on Pinterest.
Glossy Makeup

Goodbye matte, hello glossy. Sorry but all of your matte lipsticks are going to be out of style in 2019. Invest in some bomb lipgloss to put over top your lipsticks this year. Also buy some glossy eyeshadow, highlighter and more because glossy makeup is in 2019. Searches for glossy makeup went up 89%.
Powder Dip Nails

People are trying to find alternatives to gel nails and powder dip nails might be the answer. What happens is after you clean and buff your nails, a primer coat and a base coat are applied. Then you dip your nail in the pigmented powder, brush off the excess and seal it with a top coat. The nails don’t require a UV light and should last for a month. Searched for powder dip nails went up 442%.
Lash Lifts

Lash lifts aren’t a new beauty trend, but they will become more popular in the upcoming year. They’re like a mini-perm for your lashes and it’s like giving your lashes a permanent curl. Getting a lash lift is different than extensions because lifts involve your natural lashes. Searches for lash lifts went up 52% on Pinterest.
Almond Nails

Almond shaped nails are going to be the next big thing in 2019. Almond shape means your nails are rounded to a slight tip. The style helps elongates the finger. Searches for almond nails went up 97%
