If you’re in a relationship, you can tell when your partner isn’t 100% in it. They’re distant, they aren’t planning dates with you, they aren’t as excited… either way, they seem off! If you’re partner stops showing interest, that’s not something you want to ignore.
Here are some signs to look out for if you think your partner is checking out of the relationship.
They Stop Engaging With You On Social Media
Maybe your partner isn’t into social media. If that’s the case then you’re fine but if they used to engage with you on social media and now they don’t? They’re checked out and that’s a red flag. Social media is a great way to tell if someone is in a relationship and if they stop engaging with you that changes that. If you want them to start engaging again, whether its posting pictures with you or tagging you in content, be patient, open and try to find someone new to enjoy with them.
They Make Comments About Envying Their Single Friends
If your partner is making hints about wanting to be single they are checking out. You two can work on the relationship but if your partner wants to be single, it’s hard to change that. If they envy their single friends there is also the notion of cheating and wanted to experiment again. At the end of the day, your partner will do what they want if they really want to be single.
They Stop Turning To You For Advice
If your partner stops turning to you for advice they’re probably getting that advice somewhere else. Having a conversation about what is happening with your partner in your relationship in it is a good next step.
They Stop Doing The Little Things
Maybe your partner was big on romantic gestures like getting you your favorite candy every time they stop by the gas station or they get you flowers once a month. If it’s really bad, maybe they don’t even listen to you anymore! If this stops maybe it’s because you’re no longer in the honeymoon phase but it also means you’re no longer a top priority. If your partner isn’t as attentive you may want to check in with them.
They Defend Everything They Do
If your partner has one foot out the door they could be more defensive because they’re thinking about ending things. Your relationship can be saved if both parties want that. So there is hope but you and your partner need to be on the same page.
