The Golden Globes will be the first awards show we have to look forward to in January. The 2019 marks the 76th year of this annual ceremony that honors the best in films and television shows, and we cannot wait to see which stars will take home the shiny statuettes on Sunday, January 6.
Before we immerse ourselves in the excitement, there’s something also worth addressing. According to Vogue, the Golden Globes 2018 has set a new tone as the whole industry responded to the Harvey Weinstein scandal that erupted in the media at the end of 2017: “Actresses, like Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie, arrived in all-black gowns–a symbol of solidarity and allegiance to the Time’s Up movement. Natalie Portman addressed the all-male list of candidates in the Best Director category. And Oprah Winfrey received a standing ovation following a powerful speech on gender inequality and the future for the young female generation.”
To put in short, the atmosphere of this past annual event was distinctly unique from all other Golden Globe Awards since 1944.
Here, we have a guide to the Golden Globes 2019 of everything you will need to know.

Golden Globes 2019 Dress Code
The 2018 Golden Globes experienced a near blackout as dozens of A-list celebrities donned black to stand in solidarity against sexual harassment and to draw attention to workplace inequality. Stars were encouraged to wear to the shade as part of the Time’s Up movement, which is an organization dedicated to preventing sexual assault and harassment in the industry, and many took the moment to draw attention to Time’s Up’s legal defense fund.
But in 2019, Golden Globe-goers will be dressed to the nines and express their individual styles while following the dress code of the night, which is white tie, according to Vogue Australia.
