With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, it’s time to start making plans! Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday to show your significant other how much you care about and enjoy spending time with them but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to break the bank in the process. Simple plans can be enjoyed just as much and save you a little money in the process! Here are 10 affordable activities to do on Valentine’s Day this year!


Keep it simple by going to the movies! You can bring your own snacks and most theatres have student discounts that will save you a few dollars off of the ticket admission price so it won’t end up costing that much.

Ice Skating

Ice skating admission usually costs about $10-$20 depending on where you go and these are reasonable prices to pay considering it’s a holiday. This is a fun activity to do with your significant other or a group of friends if you’re spending it with multiple people.


Cooking at home will save you money compared to going out to eat at a fancy restaurant. You can still dress up if you choose or wear cozy clothes if you’d rather have a more casual evening together.

Game Night

For another night-in idea, you can have a game night! This is a fun idea whether you’re spending it with your significant other or with a group of friends. Make snacks, play music and relax while playing fun games like Monopoly.


Bowling is a fun activity to do together that will get everyone active and energized! Most bowling alleys allow you to pay by game so you can quit after a few games and not waste money.


If you have an arcade like Dave and Buster’s around, then playing arcade games is a great idea! You can have many laughs with.

Do something new in the town you grew up in by exploring or if you’re visiting one another, show the other person your favorite spots. You don’t necessarily have to go anywhere and spend money, you could just enjoy a walk with each other and talk about places you like to visit.

If you have an indoor mini-golf course near you, this is the perfect activity to do! This is another activity that will get you energized similar to bowling and you can share a few laughs in the process.

Go Out for Dessert
