American weddings have lots of rules and traditions. When Audrey Moore was planning her wedding she knew she wanted to stray far from a traditional wedding.
“We really wanted our wedding to really represent ourselves, our sense of humor, our creativity, and also not just celebrate ourselves but marriage in general as a choice,” she told BuzzFeed.
On December 30, 2018, she married writer Jesse Lumen and their wedding was perfectly their own. They invited all of their guests to wear their old wedding dresses and the image of Moore and her friends in their wedding dresses has gone viral on Reddit.
“We thought it was sad that most women only get to wear their wedding dress once, so we invited all the women coming to our non-traditional wedding to wear their old wedding dresses again!” the Reddit post reads.
“I’ve been to all of their weddings and I saw them all in their beautiful dresses,” she told BuzzFeed. “I wanted them to have the opportunity to wear their really magical, beautiful dress a second time.”
Her whole bridal party wore wedding dresses. Her few friends who weren’t married borrowed dresses from friends and family. “It was like watching a group of princesses come to life,” Moore said.
Moore wore an off the shoulder icy blue lace dress. Her husband and his groomsmen also had non-traditional outfits for the big day. They all wore white tux hoodies and black jeans.
A lot of their guests came in costumes and atypical wedding attire. It looked like a blast!
