Nakira Griner: Photos, Full Story & Must-See Details

Nakira Griner, a 24-year-old New Jersey woman, has been accused of killing her infant son because he “wouldn’t eat or listen to her.”

What Happened?

According to police, after reporting on Friday, February 8, that her 23-month-old son Daniel Griner Jr. was abducted, Griner eventually admitted to police that she beat the boy.

Originally, Griner said that stranger attacked her on Atlantic Street around 6:30 p.m. and abducted her son, who was in a stroller. While police found the stroller a few blocks from the scene of the alleged attack, there could not find any CCTV footage to corroborate her story.

Following this, Griner took and failed a polygraph test.

After a search that lasted until Saturday, February 9, the child’s burned and dismembered remains were found in a trash bag around 3 a.m. local time buried under a shed at the family’s home.

At this time, Bridgeton Police Department investigators have not clarified how or when the child died.

The Aftermath

Griner, who has since been charged with murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and desecration of human remains and tampering with evidence and is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on Thursday, February 14.

In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Griner faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child, desecration of human remains, and tampering with evidence.

Following her arrest, Griner was taken to the Cumberland County Jail, where she is currently being held.

At this time, investigating police said that they do not expect anyone else to be charged in the case and do not think the father was involved in the boy’s death.

A GoFundMe account created in support of the boy’s father, Daniel Griner Sr., has raised over $8,000 at the time of this writing.
