Who’s hosting the 2019 Oscars?

For the first time in 30 years, the Oscars will have no host. Originally, Kevin Hart was selected to host the 2019 award ceremony but Hart stepped down just three days after it was announced. Around the time that he was selected as host, homophobic tweets and comments from a stand-up routine from his past had resurfaced, causing a lot of controversy and backlash. The Academy asked Hart to publically apologize for the tweets and insensitive comments but he declined. He had already addressed these tweets before and apologized for his wrong-doings, so ultimately he made the decision to step down as host because he didn’t want this controversy to take away from an important night for a lot of talented artists.
While the show must go on, despite the fact that there will be no host at this year’s Oscars, the night will rely on a star-studded list of presenters to keep the night moving smoothly. Some of the presents include Jennifer Lopez, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg and many more.

At the Oscars, no one goes home empty-handed. Even if they aren’t walking out with a shiny gold trophy, they are walking out with a lavish “Everyone Wins” gift bag worth thousands. The gift bags are distributed by the marketing agency, Distinctive Assets. Companies pay thousands of dollars for their products to be featured in these gift bags because they are great for celebrity endorsements.
