Lady Gaga and Christian Carino have officially called off their engagement.
The Oscar-nominated actress’ rep confirmed to People that the couple broke up.
“It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end,” a source told People. “There’s no long dramatic story.”
Fans became speculating that the couple called it quits when Gaga showed up to the Grammys without her engagement ring and Carino was nowhere to be found. Carino has been present at most of the award shows this season. He attended the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards with Gaga.
The couple first began dating in February 2017. Carino was Gaga’s agent at the time.
In October 2018 Gaga confirmed they were engaged during her Elle’s Women In Hollywood speech. She thanked her fiance and showed off her pink diamond engagement ring.
This isn’t Gaga’s first called off engagement. The award-winning performer was previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney.
Gaga and Kinney were together for five years before parting ways. Soon after they broke up she and Carino began seeing each other.
“She wasn’t expecting to find love with Christian so quickly,” a source told People about the start of her relationship with Carino. “but things just became serious very fast. Christian is a good, grounding force and understands her career.”
