The Voice season 16 is here! Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson are back and EGOT winner John Legend are the judges for season 16.
This is John’s first season as a coach on the show. He’s been a guest, mentor and performer, but never a coach.
The season will kick off with The Voice‘s iconic blind auditions. The four judges will sit in chairs facing away from the singer who is auditioning. If they like what they hear, they’ll press the button and be turned around to reveal the identity of the singer.
If more than one coach turns their chais then the performer will get to choose which team they want to be on.
The coaches are trying to build winning teams who will eventually compete against one another for America’s votes to stay in the competition and eventually win. The last two seasons Clarkson’s contestants have won it all. Who knows, maybe she’ll win three times in a row.
During the first blind auditions, the four judges had a great time listening to potential stars. Blake ended up blocking John almost immediately. All the judges feel threatened by John and his talent, but they all get along and have funny repertoire.
