Disney fans can rejoice! The movie company is releasing its own streaming platform later this year called Disney Plus. If you’re on the fence about subscribing and paying for another streaming service you might want to rethink Disney Plus.
Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that Disney Plus will have “the entire Disney motion picture library” readily available to stream. So the Disney Vault will no longer matter because everything will be online.
Everything from the old school Disney movies like Snow White will be ready to stream with modern Disney movies like Frozen.

At an investors meeting, Iger explained why it was important that all movies be available to stream and not have certain films be streaming for limited periods of time.
“The service, which I mentioned earlier is going to launch later in the year, is going to combine what we call library product, movies, and television, with a lot of original product as well, movies and television,” Iger said. “And at some point fairly soon after launch it will house the entire Disney motion picture library, so the movies that you speak of that traditionally have been kept in a ‘vault’ and brought out basically every few years will be on the service. And then, of course, we’re producing a number of original movies and original television shows as well that will be Disney-branded.”
Disney also owns Marvel and Star Wars so those movies will also be able to stream. Also, some Marvel characters will be having their own spinoff shows that will be available on the platform.
Iger also noted that all Marvel and Disney movies will be available to stream within a year of premiering in theaters. “It’s going to combine both the old and the new,” Iger went on to explain. “All of the films that we’re releasing this year, [starting] with Captain Marvel, will also be on the service.”
