Jessie J’s Misspelled Tattoo Has Been Discovered & Oh No

On Thursday, May 9, English singer-songwriter Jessie J disclosed that she had a misspelled tattoo on her right hip. However, she acknowledged the mistake and doesn’t seem to care too much about it.

She revealed her tattoo in an Instagram post. The tattoo refers to a line from her 2011 song “Who You Are,” which says “don’t lose who you are in the blur of the stars.” However, her tattoo says “don’t loose who you are in the blur of the stars.”

Jessie J explained on Instagram that she got the tattoo in Essex, England when she was 18, she still doesn’t know the difference between ‘loose’ and ‘lose’, the tattoo artist didn’t mention anything wrong with the tattoo, and it’s why everything she wears is high-waisted.

According to USA Today, “‘Not long after I had it done my mum said to me in tears, “I don’t know how to tell you this but it is spelt wrong”,’ [Jessie J] said. ‘I’m not having any more tattoos’.” The same article noted that Jessie J had actually spoken about this mistake on a 2015 episode of The Graham Norton Show.

However, she isn’t the only celebrity that has a misspelled tattoo. According to Cosmopolitan, in January 2019 singer Ariana Grande also had a misspelled tattoo – and although she attempted to fix it, it didn’t really work.

As for Jessie J, she’s poked fun at herself on her Instagram before. According to Entertainment Tonight, “This isn’t the first time Jessie has jokingly trolled herself. During a beach day in March, the 31-year-old musician proudly posed in a bikini and called out her cellulite on Instagram.”
