MTV Awards 2019: Performers, Nominees & Must-See Details

On Monday, June 17th, one of the biggest nights in television and film will take place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California for the MTV Movie & TV Awards. After being rebranded to also honor television in 2017 after being a movie-only awards show for 25 years, the ceremony celebrates the biggest and best of the big and small screens.

With the anticipation of the MTV Movie & TV Awards, also known as simply MTV Awards, right around the corner, we’ve got a full list of nominees, performers and everything else you need to know!

Shazam! star Zachary Levi is suiting up as the host for this year’s show. He posted a video to his social media pages in April, holding the coveted golden popcorn that is handed out to the winners. “We gon’ do the damn thing,” Levi captioned. Along with hosting, he’s also nominated for two awards as the DC Comics superhero.

Speaking of nominations, Avengers: Endgame, RBG, and Game of Thrones snagged the most nominations with four nods each. Jason Mitchell, who was nominated for Best Performance in a Show for The Chi, had his nomination pulled on May 29 due to personal conduct issues.

Some of the categories are fairly new, like “Best Meme-able Moment” and “Best Reality Royalty.” Some categories that didn’t make the cut this year from last year are “Scene Stealer” and “Best On-Screen Team.”

Rising soul singer Lizzo will make her first major televised performance at the Movie & TV Awards.

Take a look at the rest of the details for the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards including the full list of performers and nominees.
