Who doesn’t love puppies? Let’s face it. How can you not resist watching dogs doing cute things such as, playing with other dogs, doing tricks, cuddling, or just being adorable? I know that I can’t!
Dog accounts have been trending so much on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter that people are starting to create their own accounts for their furry friends. On social media, users have entire accounts dedicated to their dogs and use other Instagram tools such as Stories to share their thoughts and personalities. Puppy social media accounts are taking the world by storm! 🐶

Here are just a few accounts that are rising in pup-u-larity!
1. @mapleandmortycorgi
Katie Park-Choi and Kingsley Choi had no idea that when they brought home their second corgi, Morty that Instagram would be so interested in Morty’s everyday life with his brother Maple.
What started as an Instagram account to send pictures of the dogs’ daily activities to family members quickly became a brand with 250,000 followers and sponsorships with Petco, Bark Industry, and other pet-brand leaders.
Katie Choi reported, “Overall, it’s amazing how much joy and happiness our dogs can bring to others who would otherwise be strangers because of our Instagram.”
When it comes to the doggos, Maple is known as the sassy older sister, and Morty is the bothersome little brother, which comes through when they interact. However, their followers know these things because of the captions on their Instagram videos, making it appear as if the corgis are actually talking, giving off more about their personality and therefore connecting more with their followers. Bark, bark, bark, bark. Translation: How cool would it be if dogs could speak?😉

2. @goodboytruman
Let’s talk about how handsome Truman and that he is such a good boy for helping his daddy as co-pilot for the day. Truman is an Irish Wolfhound and also a therapy dog. His owner, Valente, wasn’t necessarily inspired by the dog trend on social media, but instead, it is all about the connection with people who want to interact with Truman. Valente helped create a program at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which allows therapy dogs to go into the terminals and hang out with passengers. Truman hands out cards with information about him, and people follow him on Instagram to see more about his everyday life. His account is leading up to over 1,000 followers staying pupdated on his good-boy duties!😍😍😍

Does the talent get any better than Doug the Pug?
4. WeRateDogs
Up next, a paw-some Twitter account created by, Matt Nelson, called “WeRateDogs” has taken the world by storm and is an ongoing trend. Thoughts of Dog on Twitter spun off the WeRateDogs account and posts from the perspective of a dog observing his owner, and other activities from his perspective.
Matt Nelson has created doggy terminology to give dogs a rating on a scale from 1-10. 10 being the cutest, obviously. His language soon became everyday internet lingo for dog lovers— from doggo and pupper, and inserting “pup” whenever paw-sible (see what I did there?) and social media accounts centered around dogs began to personalize the language to fit their pet.
Here are some doggy terms for your use:
- Pupdate: an update on a social media account for dogs about what they have been up to
- Pupset: when the dog is clearly upset (about not getting food, attention, etc.)
- Doggo: dog, but on the internet
- Pupper: puppy
- Good boy: used to describe all dogs, because all dogs are good
- Everypawdy: a pup-tastic way to say everybody, and include furry friends

5. Join the Pawty on Facebook
On Facebook there is an open group called Dogspotting, where people from anywhere in the world can post pictures of the dogs they see with captions, most of the time using lingo discussed earlier in the post. Although this group is not centered around one dog, breed or theme, it still speaks to the magnitude of puppy internet on-going trend that has tons of action.
