2019 BET Awards night is just around the corner and here are what you need to know about it and the nominees for this year’s ceremony.
BET Networks, a branch of Viacom Inc., lead the entertainment field for the community of color. The prime BET channel can be televised in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom and sub-Saharan Africa. BET owns “BET.com, a leading Internet destination for black entertainment, music, culture and news; BET HER, a 24-hour entertainment network targeting the African-American woman; BET Music Networks – BET Jams, BET Soul and BET Gospel; BET Home Entertainment; BET Live, BET’s growing festival business; BET Mobile, which provides ringtones, games and video content for wireless devices; and BET International, which operates BET around the globe,” stated on BET’s website.
BET Awards honors African-American artists, athletes and professionals serving in the entertainment arena. On its 19th edition, this chain seeks to celebrate once again black culture and its breakthroughs throughout the years, being this special celebration the main avenue to undertake social change around the world. This year’s commemoration is on the weekend of June 20-23, starting off with the BET Experience in Los Angeles, California. This will consist of a variety of concerts, conferences, celebrity basketball games, and some more interactive events among celebrities and the community. Wrapping up this bash, the BET Awards will take place on June 23 at 8PM ET at the Microsoft Theather in Los Angeles.
Singer Cardi B receives the most nominations with seven, followed by Drake with 5.
