All You Need To Know About The 10-Step K-Beauty Routine

K-Beauty has traveled overseas creating a buzz wherever it goes. Their use of all-natural products has thrived in today’s vegan and cruelty-free markets. Most impressive of all, is their extensive skincare regimens that will have your skin clearing up, your GPA skyrocketing and your stocks going up! (kidding) If you’re looking to achieve the coveted “glass skin” appearance of K-pop idols and entertainers alike, keep reading!

1. Oil Cleanser

This is the perfect first step since an oil cleanser is great at removing oil-based products like old sunscreen and makeup from your pores!

(A favorite of mine is coconut oil!)


2. Foam Cleanser

This routine is known for its double-cleanse ideology. Washing your face twice not only ensures there won’t be any dirt left to cause any breakouts, but the difference in types of cleansers is what creates the magic. A water-based cleanser will get rid of any water-based impurities in your skin like sweat.


3. Exfoliator

Exfoliation can be pivotal for making sure your products absorb deep into your skin. If you don’t bother scrubbing off those dead skin cells that sit at the top of your skin, then your products won’t penetrate deep enough to make an impact! Not to mention, it helps to brighten the appearance of your skin altogether. This step is recommended 1-2 times a week.


4. Toner

This is one step that is vastly overlooked in the beauty community. Many opt out of toning since its watery texture seems ineffective compared to other products. However, the truth is that toning is important to do when your skin is sensitive after cleaning and exfoliation and could use a prep for the rehydration that comes afterward.


5. Essence

6. Serum

This is an optional step for those of us cursed with skin problems such as acne and hyperpigmentation. Serums will help improve the look of the skin by evening out its appearance!


7. Sheet Mask

Sheet masks have become a staple for skincare, not to mention, they’re fun to do! Like exfoliation, this step should only be done 1-2 times a week. Different masks will give your skin what it needs, so check out your local drug store and pick up a few of those pop colored packets!

(Because I tend to suffer from dryness and redness, my favorite masks are ones packed with oatmeal and avocado oil for soothing and hydration!)


8. Eye Cream

Essences aren’t the only product essential for anti-aging. Eye creams are super beneficial for fighting the look of fine lines, dark circles, and crows feet! This is absolutely a must-have for dedicated beauty enthusiasts looking to preserve their looks well into old age.


9. Face Cream
