

Did you know that today is world emoji day? Well today is the day!
Emojis are literally an everyday trend. People use emojis everyday, but who knew that emojis had a special day worth celebrating? There are various World Emoji Day events taking place over the world today. It even has its very own Event on Facebook where you can share your event details. How cool is that?
Apple is celebrating by announcing that new emojis are coming in the fall of this year. Yay! Unicode is releasing 59 new emoji characters, 75 with gender variations, and 230 total emojis when gender variations and different skin tones are counted. There is a full list of emojis that you can check out on Emojipedia to see what to expect for the new and upcoming icons.
Every year creators of Emojipedia announce their annual Emoji awards which include the Best New Emoji, the Most Anticipated Emoji, an award for Excellence in Emoji Use and which emoji best represents the exact year the best. This years winner for Best New Emoji is the ‘laugh cry’ emoji. 😂

What New Emoji’s Can We Expect?
There are tons of new emojis coming out such as, an Orangutan, sloth, otter, skunk, and flamingo are the new animals on this update There are also new food items that include garlic, onion, waffle, falafel, butter, oyster, beverage box, maté, and ice cubes.
New faces, gestures, and poses include yawning face, pinching hand, person kneeling, person standing, and new people holding hands options that are both gender and skin tone inclusive. It is nice to see how emojis are embracing diversity and celebrating differences. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect.

Other different emojis include Hindu Temple, auto rickshaw, parachute, ringed planet, diving mask, yo-yo, kite, safety vest, sari, one-piece swimsuit, briefs, shorts, ballet shoes, banjo, diya lamp, axe, drop of blood, bandage, stethoscope, chair, razor, white heart, and circles and squares in various new colors.
Thousands of emojis are currently available, including smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, professions, some new clothing options, food, animals, mythical creatures and much more.
