After news broke of Lori Loughlin’s college admissions scandal, the two people at the center of it fell silent. Loughlin’s daughters Olivia Jade and Bella refrained from any comments and essentially removed themselves from the public eye after their mother’s scandal took the country by storm earlier this year. Now, months later, Olivia and Bella have returned to Instagram and the content of their most recent posts will probably surprise you.
Here’s a refresher if you needed it: earlier this year, Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were caught up in a major college admissions scandal. According to CNN, the couple “paid $500,000 to a fake charity to get their two daughters into USC, falsely designating them as crew team recruits.” Immediately after, both Olivia and Bella withdrew from the college and went MIA on all social media.
When the news of the scandal broke, tons of rumors began circulating just as they do in any major Hollywood drama. Perhaps the most speculated rumor of all was how the bribing scandal affected the sisters’ relationship with their parents. Several news outlets went as far as saying Olivia Jade immediately moved out of her parents’ home and was not on speaking terms with them.
Well, that rumor seems to be false when we take a look at Olivia and Bella’s first back-to-Instagram posts.
After a roughly five month long hiatus, the girls worked their ways back to Instagram with none other than sweet “Happy Birthday” posts for their mother. It’s clear that the sisters have set the record straight and that there is no animosity between them and their mother.
Loughlin and her husband are still awaiting their trial for the scandal, where if convicted, both can possibly face up to 20 years in prison.
