Summer isn’t always all about sun and sand. It’s also about finding that perfect summer jam to listen to with friends, whether you’re on the beach, in the club, or just at home.
The biggest summer songs tend to be released in the spring, all throughout summer, and stay on the charts through summer’s end. Past summer hits include Carly Rae Jepsen’s catchy debut, “Call Me Maybe” and Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s Spanish smash “Despacito.”

The biggest summer songs of this year are from a variety of artists, from Justin Bieber to Drake to Taylor Swift to Lizzo to Shawn Mendes. A lot of them were also released months prior, with Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” being released nearly two years ago in 2017. “Old Town Road” broke the record for longest-consecutive #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, spending a whopping 17 weeks at the top of the chart.
At just 17 years old, Billie Eilish is proven to be a force to be reckoned with. “Bad Guy” has spent 17 weeks on the charts, still at its current peak position at #2. There’s already talk about her being nominated for a few Grammys, possibly being the youngest to win of the bigger awards next year.
