Everything You Need For Binge-Watching Your Fave 2000s Shows

Winter break is right around the corner, and for those of us who don’t have any extravagant vacations planned, binge-watching our favorite 2000s TV shows will just have to suffice. At the point, binging all six seasons of Gossip Girl each December has become a yearly tradition that we must plan for weeks in advance. Yes, even binge-watching must be planned!

Sure, we guess you could just sit on your couch and turn on Netflix, but where’s the fun and glamour in that? No, binge-watching has truly become a school-break sport. Don’t worry, though, because we’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of everything you’ll need for binge-watching your fave 2000s shows this winter.

The Blanket

First off, finding the best blanket is a necessity. Anything itchy or scratchy won’t do. Your binge-watching blanket should be soft and fluffy, making you feel both warm and loved at the same time. And for the single folk like myself (R.I.P us), this blanket will make you forget for a second that you don’t have the arms of a gorgeous significant other wrapped around you.

The Pillow

Speaking of having arms wrapped around you, a pillow is also needed. Not just any throw cushion, but a state of the art, memory foam, personalized little cloud. Whether you’ve got your arms wrapped around it or your head lying gently on it after finishing season 3 of Gilmore Girls, having the perfect pillow will provide comfort and support throughout your entire binge-watching session.

The Platform

Obviously, Netflix is a go-to when it comes to binge-watching, but let’s not forget about the other platforms available. For instance, if you’re in the mood for a tear jerker and need some This Is Us in your life ASAP, Hulu is the way to go. But don’t forget about Amazon Prime, Roku and all the other devices available. And, for those of you who were born before 1995, you can always play your favorite series on DVD (those still exist, right?).

The Tea

Oooo, the tea. And not just any tea! Some pathetic bags of tea you stole from your last hotel visit won’t do. You need luxurious, fruity, delicious tea to soothe and calm you during your TV binge. Depending on the show you’re watching, things can get heated, and not in a good way! Having the perfect tea by your side will keep you relaxed throughout the entire adventure.

The Snacks

When it comes to snacks, everyone’s go-to is a little different. Some may prefer popcorn while others prefer chips. The bottom line is to pick a snack that will not stain your carefully picked blanket and pillow, so no hot cheese or chocolate fondue.

The Lighting

None. Pitch-black is the way to go. It creates a mood perfect for any show, whether it be a tear-jerker or action movie or comedy.

The Company

Once again, none. Sure, sometimes having a friend along your side to binge-watch One Tree Hill is fun, but most of the time, this is one journey you need to go on alone.

The Attire

Pajamas are obviously a great pick. My personal favorite is a custom blue, velvet robe with my initials on it. Yes, I am that petty.

The Outcome

The best binge-watching session of your entire life.
