Phoebe Tonkin, an Australian actress that received her start as a mermaid on H2O: Just Add Water in 2006, is starring in the 2019 Australian television show Bloom. H2O: Just Add Water ran from 2006-2010 and it still proves to be one of Phoebe’s most notable work to date. After moving to America with her friend Claire Holt, who also starred in H2O as her mermaid friend, Phoebe landed another show called The Secret Circle. Although the show was short-lived, with only one season, she proved to be a bad-ass in her role as a powerful witch and landed a role in The Vampire Diaries.
Phoebe Tonkin’s role in The Vampire Diaries became a vital role for some of the show’s characters, which led her to join the spin-off The Originals. The show lasted from 2013-2018 giving her five seasons as Haley Marshall, until they killed her character off in the middle of the last season.
Safe Harbour, a mini Australian series Phoebe joined in 2018, aired four episodes. Although she lives in America Phoebe Tonkin stays true to her nationality by joining more Australian shows. Being single is a rare sight to see with Phoebe because she was in relationships during the filming of her previous television shows.

This is the longest relationship Phoebe Tonkin had. Paul Wesley was married to Torrey DeVitto from 2011-2013 before getting with Phoebe in 2013. This was another “on set” relationship Phoebe Tonkin had. They dated on and off for four years before officially calling it quits. Phoebe met Paul on the set of Vampire Diaries and he guest starred in The Originals and had scenes with Phoebe’s character as well. Explaining the similarities in milestones they both were going through, Tonkin gushed over her boyfriend during a 2015 interview with Elle Canada, “He’s my best friend. It’s such a fun time in my life right now,” she said. “It’s nice to have someone to share all that with.” Multiple sources told US Weekly, “during their breakup, the duo moved out of their shared home.” US Weekly also reported the couple no longer follow each other on Instagram. After their relationship ended in 2017, Paul moved on and got married, but from what we know Phoebe Tonkin stayed single.
