Kevin Hart’s 40th birthday was July 6th and he bought himself a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. On Sunday, September 1, 2019, Jared Black, Kevin Hart’s friend lost control of Kevin’s car and a huge crash happened in Malibu on Mulholland Highway near Coldwater Canyon. An eyewitness told TMZ he was in earshot of the violent crash and heard both the tires screeching and the sound of the vintage sports car smashing through fencing. His friend Jared Black, who is a very low key actor, producer, and director and not into the spotlight, was not under the influence but was supposedly speeding. Law enforcement has investigators checking if the car lost control of speeding or because of something else.
Kevin Hart got out of the car to get, but Jared Black and his fiancee, who was in the back of the car, was stuck in the car. Jared Black was pinned towards the wheel and emergency units had to saw the roof off to get him out. Thankfully Jared’s fiancee, Rebecca Broxterman, Kevin Hart’s wife, Eniko Hart’s personal trainer, was not seriously injured. Both Kevin Hart and Jared Black are facing serious back injuries.

Kevin Hart underwent back surgery and his wife Eniko Hart told TMZ that “he is doing well and he will be fine. Recovery is going well and everyone is doing okay” Although the surgery was a success Kevin is expected to stay at Northridge Hospital Medical Center for a few more days before being discharged. Jared Black remains at UCLA Medical Center with his family, where he was airlifted to.
