Taco Bell Has A New Vegetarian Menu: DETAILS

Starting Thursday, Taco Bell will begin to offer two new vegetarian items on their menu. Along with two other options, the Yum Brands-owned company will officially have a section on the menu entitled, “Vegetarian Favorites.”

Joining the vegetarian lineup with the current items The Power Menu Bowl, The Power Menu Burrito and The Bean Burrito, will be The Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme and The Black Bean Quesarito. These days, it seems as if choosing the vegan lifestyle is way healthier than your favorite fast-food chain. It’s also safer.

The expansion of the new vegetarian menu will be launched at all 7,000 Taco Bell stores, nationwide. After trying out a test run earlier this year, Taco Bell also plans to promote the new menu section with a new ad campaign. After these new additions, Taco Bell will officially have over a dozen vegetarian items to choose from.

CNN reports that Taco Bell has stated that its menu “can be customized more than 8 million ways.” Talk about options. Other fast-food chains have jumped on the “veggie craze” train, as well. KFC, which is also owned by YUM Brands, recently tested out a new Beyond Meat’s plant-based chicken in Georgia.

Many Americans and people worldwide have been searching for more eco-friendly and healthier foods to eat. Plant-based meat alternatives have become more popular not only in homes but, in restaurants and supermarkets, as well. Restaurants like Chipotle and Burger King have incorporated healthy eating items into their menu, also.

Chipotle recently launched their “lifestyle bowls” that integrate healthy meals into the paleo, ketogenic, and Whole30 diets. In August, Burger King began selling the Impossible Whopper, which is a meatless patty sandwich.

Taco Bell said in a statement release that they have plans to “further innovate in this growing space.”
