Beyonce Presents: Making The Gift, Airing On ABC

Beyonce, aka Queen Bee, will give fans a behind the scenes look at the making of Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift LP. Beyonce starred in the live-action of The Lion King as adult Nala and made $1.617 billion at the box office, with a $250–260 million budget. In accordance with her love for Africa she executive produced and created new and original music for The Lion King Live Action. According to Beyonce, this LP was meant to be “a love letter to Africa.” She gathered artists that spanned culturally to different regions of the world like, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and South Africa. The LP is not included in the official soundtrack from the movie, but because of the hand-selected talented people Beyonce gathered, the songs tells the story of the Pride Lands.

Beyonce’s Making The Gift: First Look

The Gift is about personal growth and has Afrobeats and Afrofusion. The compilation includes African and Afro-diasporic talents. The LP includes multiple beats and artists that are well known.

She has the majority of the songs, Bigger, Nile feat Kendrick Lamar, Mood 4 EVA feat her husband Jay-Z, & Childish Gambino. Reunited(nala and simba interlude) with Donald Glover, who played adult Simba. Brown Skin Girl feat Saint JHN, Wizkid and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter and more songs. The one song that did make it onto the Live action movie was Spirit.

James Earl Jones

The original Mufasa who played in the live action version as well is the first person on the LP and his first song is Balance(Mufasa interlude). He also has a song called the stars (Mufasa interlude), remember (Mufasa interlude) and more.

Burna Boy

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, Nigerian singer and songwriter has a song called JA ARA E.

These are only a few of the songs by well known artists. I have downloaded some songs that I love and from artist I’ve never heard of. The beats and the African vocals are what makes this LP something bigger and better and I am excited to see the behind the scenes making of this African LP.
