A Hand Sanitizer With A Modern Twist? Here’s Touchland for Ya’ll

Touchland is a hand sanitizer that promises it won’t leave your hands dry and smelling like alcohol. Its fast absorbing, non-sticky, hydrating and slightly scented spray is clearly revolutionizing the personal hygiene game.

The iPhone-looking packaging will definitely make you feel cool just by having it on your hands. But, is this product worth the hype and the price ($12)?

On the website it says that the formula hydrates, softens, kills 99.9% of the germs, smells great and it absorbs fast.

Sure, this product does leave your hands feeling more moisturized compared to other hand sanitizers and it doesn’t leave a smell of alcohol on your hands which is technically a huge plus for me. The vanilla cinnamon scent isn’t my favorite and I found the scent faded away very quickly despite me putting more product in my hands. Well the product is marketed as being lightly scented so, I guess, put a plus stamp there.

I suffer of extreme dryness on my right hand. Technically my left hand looks like it belongs to a 20-year-old while my right hand looks dry and cracked. Using this product on my right hand did not burn, but I won’t say it helped me with my dryness. It did moisturize my left hand, but I don’t think using it will improve my dryness on my right hand on the long term.

The fact that it doesn’t leave a smell of alcohol in your hands really makes you feel that it doesn’t sanitize your hand at all, but it most likely does because it contains alcohol. To be more precise, 67% of ethyl alcohol.

Touchland Power Mist comes in a small, travel-friendly package and it contains 1.3 FL OZ (38 mL). When you spray it, the product comes out in a fine mist so you have to press it more than once to get enough product out to cover your hands.

According to their website, the formula is cruelty-free and vegan. I think this is true and not merely a marketing tactic because the manufacturer, Zobele Group, are known for their conscientious approach to the environment in every strategy that they implement.

Every single power mist comes with the same six ingredients: ethyl alcohol denat, aloe vera, glycereth-26, radish root ferment filtrate, lime and lemon essential oils which probably explains why my hand sanitizer smelled more like lemon and lime than the scent it was supposed to smell like.

The product is very popular on Instagram because of the influencer marketing approach the founder and CEO of Touchland, Andrea Lisbona, has implemented to make her brand more successful. Genius move because it worked.

Touchland markets itself as a female-led brand that offers a creative solution to something we need everyday: good hygiene. This message obviously sits very well with millennials and Gen-Zers, the two generations that have been so outspoken about gender equality and self-care.

Touchland is definitely a one-of-a-kind product because it has made hand sanitizers, a rather boring and overlooked part of personal hygiene, chick and instagrammable, an approach we haven’t seen yet from any other hand sanitizer brands.

Even if its different and so popular in social media, the product does have a lot of competition. Touchland comes in a somewhat small package and it retails for $12 when others hand sanitizers come in larger packages and cost less money.

For example, Germ-X hand sanitizing wipes retail at $15 and have a 4.5 star rating in Amazon compared to the 2.7 star rating Touchland has on the e-commerce website.

In fact, Solimo is another brand many people love in Amazon because it is cheap ($4) and it comes in a large bottle (32 fluid ounce). Reviews show that the product doesn’t leave your hand sticky and it makes them soft. Basically, the same thing Touchland promises its customers but at a way cheaper price and bigger, less cool package.

I think what Touchland offers that other brands don’t offer are anti-ageing properties. Touchland’s formula, as previously mentioned, contains lemon and lime essential oils known for rejuvenating the skin. That’s something that I will market more in order to stay afloat in the competition.

With that being said, the product comes in a very modern-looking, high-quality packaging. Although the product is not cheap, you will be definitely getting a product that fulfills almost everything it promises.

I also want to reiterate that this is a product intended for the age of social media. Its appeal is that of younger men and women and not older people. Come on! The brand is known for being “instagrammable” after all.

My experience using this product were okay after all. The only things I don’t like are the price and the smell, but this is definitely the most moisturizing hand sanitizer I’ve ever lay my hands on.

Whether the product is worth your money, I would say yes but keep in mind that there are other brands that are as good as Touchland and retail at a cheaper price.
