Spooky season is in full swing and Halloween is just around the corner! With all the fall and spooky festivities to partake in, buying a costume can be quite pricey. Sometimes you’ll need multiple costumes for multiple costume parties or occasions. It’s just not worth it to spend an arm and a leg on a costume you’ll literally wear only once. If you want to be trendy but don’t want to spend a fortune, here’s a couple of costumes you can throw together last minute!
This one is perfect for a large group. All you need is a few t-shirts in different colors (obviously the same colors as M&M’s), a hot glue gun, felt, and a wooden letter “M.” Creating four shirts took a total of two hours to create. Most of these supplies can be bought at Michaels or a local craft store. If this is something you’d like to do, then check out the full instructions. If M&M’s isn’t your favorite candy, then consider swapping the M’s with S’s to resemble Skittles instead!
This costume is quite simple and really inexpensive. It’s also a plus if you want to be extra creative and do the makeup the way this person did. If not, that’s okay too. A simple orange shirt and black pants will do. For the shirt, try to get your hands on some felt and glue so you can make the face of the jack o’ lantern. If you’d like to recreate this entire look, the user suggests visiting Spirit Halloween for the hat and the pair of socks.
3. Wednesday Adams
Wednesday Adams is a classic and easy go-to Halloween costume! All you need is a white collared shirt and a black dress. Pair the outfit with some black leggings and black boots and you’re done! Don’t forget to do your hair as your signature middle-part pigtails!
4. Alvin and The Chipmunks
Another great group costume! All you need are 3 hoodies: one red, one green, and blue. You’ll also need yellow/orange felt, glue, and of course a pair of glasses! With the felt, cut out a big letter “A” and glue it on to the red hoodie. Whoever wears the blue hoodie, will also have to wear a pair of glasses. There are many variations to this costume like adding ears or face makeup, but once you’ve got those main components down you’re ready to go!
5. Thing 1 and Thing 2
This one is perfect for you and your bestie or your significant other. All you need are two red t-shirts, some white felt, a marker, and some glue. Cut out two circles and write “Thing 1” on one and “Thing 2” on the other. If you really wanna add more to the costume, check out Spirit Halloween!
Have a happy, safe, and spooky Halloween!
