After reaching a subscriber count of 20M, Youtuber, MrBeast otherwise known as Jimmy Donaldson, had started a mission to commemorate the achievement by planting 20M trees. In partnership with Arbor Day Foundation’s reforestation program, every dollar plants a tree.
His goal is to raise $20M by January 1, 2020. With the help of over 600 influencers, the #TeamTrees campaign had become viral over social media with posts and videos to encourage donations towards the cause.

So far it had reached many high profiled influencers such as Tesla Ceo, Elon Musk, YouTube CEO, Susan Wojcicki, and famous YouTubers PewDiePie and Jeffree Star who have donated millions of dollars combined.
Other generous YouTubers such as Ninja donated $15,000, Lachlan contributed another $15,000, gamer, Arin Hanson, gave $12,345, and Roi Fabito who planted 10,009 trees.
It has almost become a trend and competition to stand at a high ranking on the leaderboard, which is motivating many people to planting an overwhelming amount of trees. CEO’s like Tobi Lutke of Shopify who gave $1,000,000 to the organization, are setting an example to their audience to make a difference in our society.
It doesn’t take a CEO or someone with millions of followers to make an impact on our environment. Anyone can contribute, and every dollar counts!
