Harry Styles Befriends A Fish In His New Adore Me Music Video

Harry Styles dropped the music video for his new single “Adore Me” just a few weeks from the release of his second solo album Fine Line, which releases December 13, 2019. The music video introduces us to the island of Eroda, which is Adore spelled backward for those who didn’t catch that.

The narrator who some might recognize as ROSALÍA, describes the gloomy island and shows us the unhappy, frowning islanders who all have “resting fish face”. Among the islanders, Harry, or “the boy”, is born with a glowing smile. He stands out with his smiling face and is shunned by the other islanders. Isolated and lonely, Harry befriends a fish that repeatedly washes ashore. The fish becomes Harry’s only friend and the two spend every day together. While the friendship is peculiar it is oddly adorable, but the fish eventually grows too large to spend all his time in a fishbowl. Harry eventually sets his fishy friend free, along with the help of his fellow islanders who all crack smiles after lending a helping hand.

The video is odd but ultimately heartwarming as Harry and the fish both try to find their place in the world. While this music video has some people baffled, fans are ultimately hyped as the release date for Fine Line is coming up soon. When describing the new album Harry said “It’s all about having sex and feeling sad” which is evident in this music video, the feeling sad part obviously. “Adore You” is the third single to be released from “Fine Line” following “Lights Up” and “Watermelon Sugar”. The full 12-track album comes out December 13, 2019.
