Most people go to Las Vegas for their gambling getaways. Casino hotels like the Luxor and Caesars Palace have attracted gamblers and tourists alike for decades, though European cities have got busier in recent years. Europe has a booming land-based and online casino industry, with a culture much different from the United States, which is why it’s easy to see why more Americans are going to the continent for gambling holidays. Yet, there is still a question over which European city is the best for gambling-inspired vacations. In this article, we hope to shine some light on the subject.

London, England
England and London, in particular, have a rich history of gambling and casinos. In recent years, we have seen the growth of the country’s online casino industry, with platforms like Betfair — the company is based in Greater London — offering gamblers everything from online bingo to live casino games like blackjack and poker. Much of this sector’s recent successes come from the creation of new games like Slingo and online casino operators offering promotions to gamblers like sign-up and reload bonuses. These promotions help retain and incentivize players, which has helped England’s online casino industry grow exponentially.
Yet England and London’s history with gambling is much more than that. Land-based gambling is still very present in cities like London, where there are several renowned land-based casinos, including The Hippodrome. This casino is located in London’s vibrant West End and offers live gaming 24/7 in a stunning 19th-century auditorium. Ascot Racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire, is also accessible by railway from London. Every summer, this racecourse is home to the Royal Ascot, one of England’s most valuable horse race meetings and one of the biggest events for sports bettors. At the event, race-goers place wagers on horses and jockeys at kiosks throughout the racecourse.

Berlin, Germany
Everyone knows Berlin has a busy nightlife. However, not everyone knows that there are several casinos located amongst Berlin’s famous restaurants. In fact, just in Alexanderplatz alone, a historic square in Berlin’s Mitte district, there are two large casinos. Like London, Berlin also has a growing online casino landscape, but many still choose to go to the city’s most famous land-based casino, Spielbank Berlin. This casino is part of the Spielbank casino chain, which has four prestigious locations throughout Germany. Spielbank Berlin is the largest casino in the city and offers nearly 400 gaming machines.
Tallinn, Estonia
Many have regarded Estonia as the Las Vegas of Europe, which is fitting, considering its capital city of Tallinn has a casino area inspired by Vegas. Attracting gamblers from across the globe, Tallinn has its own version of the Las Vegas Strip. The Tallinn Strip offers access to over 30 land-based casinos in one location. However, the largest and most popular casino in Tallinn is the Olympic Park Casino, in the center of the city.
Of course, there are dozens of other cities in Europe you can choose for a gambling getaway, but London, Berlin, and Tallinn stand out the most. Honorable mentions include Lisbon and Paris, but any city that places casinos in the middle of historic buildings and landmarks is worth visiting.
