Week 2 of The Bachelor means two excellent, and I mean excellent, one-on-one dates and one outrageous group date. You can tell Juan Pablo has a hand in the dates this season, because both the individual dates were worlds above anything Des or Sean would have ever planned. I was a little obsessed with Juan this week.
First, we get a date with Clare… And this happens really quickly. Did we even get a date card? Either way, it is a wonderful, wonderful date. He has brought her to a winter wonderland in LA, you guys. Come on. They sled, throw snowballs, and are basically children in fake snow with bikinis and hot tubs. Seriously love this!
So naturally, Clare gets the first kiss, and it’s pretty excellent. Hot tub, shirtless Juan Pabs, super passionate… Yeah this is a great first kiss.
Next, we get a date with Kat. Initially, she seems a little too superficial to me. Like, she was a little bit too excited about the private jet if you know what I mean. She even says, “I’m already having visions of jet setting with my Latin lover,” and I truly hope she knows that the real Juan Pablo probably doesn’t have a private jet.
But um… The chemistry on this date was Out. Of. Control. I mean… He’s way sexier than I could have ever imagined. He picks out rave outfits and takes them on an Electric Run. The two of them run and dance and groove and grind and laugh the whole way through! And to top it all off, they just jump on a stage and start dancing their faces off in front of a huge crowd of people. This is in all seriousness the greatest date I’ve ever seen on The Bachelor. Any single bros out there want to take me on an Electric Run date? Please?
Last, but certainly not least, we get a model group date. Anyone else find it perfect that he took the Dog Lover on a dog date? And of course she got the rose—clearly she was in her element.
To be honest—I hate when The Bachelor does these model dates and then requires people to get naked. I fully understand why Andi wouldn’t want to pose nude for a photo shoot—Bitch has a law degree! I wouldn’t want naked pictures of me out in the world either, even if it was to save dogs. Not surprisingly, Juan Pablo says just the right thing at just the right time, and makes even Andi feel okay about posing nude. Le sigh.
Side note on the whole naked thing—there’s also a scene where Lucy literally, literally walks down a busy LA street completely naked. What is that? Why is she outside? Is she sober? I can’t even with Lucy.
My take away from this date is that Juan Pablo can wear the F out of anything. I see him in a t-shirt and I’m like ooo boy can wear a shirt. Then he wears a Tux, and I seriously melt. Then he gets naked, and he can CERTAINLY pull that look off too. Is there anything Juan Pablo can’t do?
Following the model shoot, we learn that Victoria certainly has a drinking problem. Not only was she completely hammered, she was lying about it to everyone. She kept mumbling about a hymen maneuver and talking about straddling Juan Pablo Of course, she then starts weeping and running around the hotel from the bathroom to the gym to the elevators for what must have been hours IRL.
Sweet, sweet Juan tries to talk to her and make her feel better. When he realizes she’s not ready to talk, he just walks away and asks the girls to make sure she gets home safely so he can talk with her tomorrow. He even says he won’t judge her because it’s not a common situation and he knows she must be nervous. I love him for that.
Side note—Elan for Bachelor 2015! Props to him for having to tell this drunk B that she can’t leave without shoes, and in order for her to go home he has to get her a flight first.
Overall—this episode showed me how amazing Juan Pablo actually is. Yes, I realize I sound like one of these crazy girls, but I don’t even care. He planned 2 pretty wonderful, fun, and original dates. He handled a crazy drunk girl so well and without judgment. Not only that, but he chose to approach her honestly and tell her that he’s a 32 year old dad, and he can’t have a woman in his life who can’t control herself.
He’s a born Bachelor!
