BITE Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream* in Burgundy & Crianza
Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
For Spring 2014, BITE has added 4 new shades to their stellar Cashmere Lip Cream range. For those of you not familiar, this product is “a cream-to-powder matte lip color that delivers an unprecedented 50 percent pigment dispersion.” Impressive! I’ve tried (and loved) these babies in the past and wanted to see if the shade expansion retained the quality I so love. Crianza is a “dark pink with red undertones”, while Burgundy is “berry purple”.
How To Use It:
Application takes a few goes to get right. They come with a rather stiff straight applicator and once you realize that using the tip is highly effective, you’re good to go. Just trace your lipline, then fill in and smoosh your lips together.

I’m happy to report that at least half of the new Cashmere Lip Cream shades are as impressive as their predecessors. Crianza is probably my new favorite in the entire collection; it’s elegant, yet bold and really brightens up my complexion. I’ve been wearing it tonnes since I got it and receive lots of compliments on it. Burgundy is nice, but I find the formula to be slightly sheerer and more glossy than Crianza and the other Cashmere Lip Creams I own. You’ll notice that in the swatch, it appears like a blackened purple, but on my lips it’s much more a true purple. That “true purple” only translates in photos and in real life it matches the swatch. I can only chalk this up to the sheerer nature of Burgundy.
The weartime on these is good; around 5 hours, but they do require touch-ups after eating or drinking. They’re comfortable to wear and don’t tighten up like a lot of matte lip products. You also get a surprisingly large amount of product (0.26oz), which is more than any of BITE’s other offerings.
All in all, the new shades of BITE Beauty’s Cashmere Lip Cream are welcome additions! They’re available at Sephora for $28.
