These Evil Eye Nails Will Protect You From Bad Juju

The “evil eye” is a symbol that appears in many cultures. While the idea of the eye is said to cause malevolence the talisman that appears on jewelry, brooches and decorations has the opposite effect. Aside from looking very cool it serves a specific purpose: to protect the bearer from wrongdoing, misfortune and malice from others. While it is referred to by different names in Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Persian and Urdu, the premise is basically the same: there is bad juju out there and the “evil eye” charm can help repel some of those mysterious forces of nature. Recently the symbol has been borrowed by fashionistas and versions of the evil eye have begun to appear on t-shirts, handbags and shoes. Our favorite use is as a nail decal. Maybe because it’s sort of creepy to have eyeballs painted on your nails or maybe because when you give someone the finger you’re also deflecting their bullshit but it just feels like the best use of the evil eye.
