On our first round of dates, we definitely get a better feel for Andi’s guys, and I think we get a better feel for Andi. She isn’t quite as interesting as I was hoping she would be… But I don’t know why I keep expecting so much from my Bachelor and Bachelorette.
The first date went to Eric, and I can’t say I was surprised. Could this guy be any cuter or more interesting? The two of them go to the beach and make sandcastles and fly kites. I love how when people on this show do things like make castles or frolic and play, the men always act like they have made the greatest discovery in a woman. Look, it’s hard to find a woman who DOESN’T like to do this stuff!
As if this wasn’t cute enough for a first date, a helicopter comes and takes them to a mountain (because of course). I have to say, leaving the beach to go to a snow mountain where I have to snowboard would be a horrible date for me. Though, strangely, I feel like Andi expressed this more than any other Bachelorette has. She swore up a storm and was very vocal about being scared of falling down the mountain, and I appreciated that!
The first group date of the season is obviously a stripper date. Because… why not? I mostly hate when ABC does this. But on the other hand it’s just a more visual form of how degrading this show really is at its core. None of the guys were super nervous… Because they all have insane bodies. Any feigned nervousness was very, very unfounded.
Did anyone else notice how we were never told exactly what charity was being benefitted by this strip event? Who is this Charity woman that got all of the money, because she is winning the day.
Also Chris Harrison spanked an opera singing man and I died. And Andi was clearly obsessed with Marcus. There was no hiding it, every time they spoke she was like a wild animal looking at a meal!
Most people would say that the biggest drama of the day is that Craig got super, super, super drunk on this date. I would argue that the biggest drama was that Craig was in love with all of the dudes… #NotThatThere’sAnythingWrong WithThat. He truly goes on and on about how sexy he finds Josh’s face, and how happy he was that he got a group strip date. But I digress.
Also, this isn’t drama. For some reason this really shocked Andi. I could not have been less surprised. You put a bunch of 20 something cut up dudes together with free booze… They are going to get drunk. He definitely took it too far but the way it upset her was completely ridiculous. It absolutely should not have made her “question everything.”
Chris got the second date, and that made me quite pleased. I find him to be incredibly attractive, especially when he gets in a bow tie and solid socks. He is perhaps the sweetest person I have ever seen on this show, and I sincerely mean that. I am pretty sure Andi is going to break his little Midwestern heart, and I am extremely concerned for him.
In the end, she let go of the people she should have. I can’t even get started on Craig’s guitar song, because THIS is my nightmare. If he was actually sorry, he would sit down with her and have a legitimate chat about it. The songs and the antics would not be necessary.
Next week we have 2 full episodes in a row. ABC, why do you keep rushing us?? Do they think by throwing more episodes out at once more people will watch? I’m not sure, I just know 4 hours of my life minimum will be spent on these people next week. That is not something I am proud of.
